IISER Kolkata follows the seat reservation rules laid down by the Government of India. As per an official document, the institute reserves 64.5% of the seats for reserved category students, including OBC, SC, and ST. As per the policy, the highest number of reservations (27%) is provided to candidates belonging to the OBC category.
