IIT Dhanbad offers a four-year BTech degree course in Computer Science & Engineering. Admission to the four-year course is entrance-based. It is also one of the top BTech branches. As per the IIT ISM Dhanbad's past years records, almost 100% of students from the CSE department get placed.Ranking: IITs have a higher ranking and reputation among the engineering colleges in India and the world. Seven IITs are in the top 10 of the NIRF 2020 ranking, while NIT Trichy is ranked 9th among the engineering colleges and 1st among the NITs.

IIT Dhanbad JEE Advanced Cutoff 2024 was concluded after the last round of cutoff. The cutoff ranks for the General All India category candidates was ranged between 3846 and 15321. The closing cutoff rank for BTech (Hons) CSE was 3846 in 2024, 3258 in 2023 and 3009 in 2022; which shows that the cutoff witnessed an improving trend for the course. For most of the courses, there was a fluctuating trend for during the past few years. IIT Dhanbad JEE Advanced Cutoff was released based on the category and gender. For the General AI category candidates, the Cutoff ranks ranged between 3846 and 15321. To get B.Tech. (Hons.) in Mechanical Engineering, the General AI category candidates must have secured a minimum cutoff rank of 9875. For the General AI female candidates, the minimum JEE Advanced rank to get Mechanical Engineering was 19099. For the OBC AI category, the cutoff rank for Mechanical closed at 7762. Therefore, a General AI candidate or an OBC AI candidate can secure a seat in Mechanical Engineering with the cutoff rank of 1500. To get admission into IIT Dhanbad, the JEE Advanced Cutoff rank for the female candidate (General Category) ranged between 8682 and 25824. Since BTech (Hons) in CSE was the toughest course to get into, therefore the Cutoff for the same was the lowest cutoff rank i.e. 8682. For the Female Candidates (OBC category), the JEE Advanced Cutoff ranged between 3220 and 9262, with the cutoff for BTech (Hons) in CSE being 3220. For the SC Female category and the ST Female category, the Cutoff ranks to secure a seat in CSE were 1552 and 439, respectively.

IIT ISM Dhanbad cutoff 2024 has been released across various specialisations in the form of opening and closing ranks. IIT Dhanbad MSc cutoff 2024 ranged between,  103 and 1017 for the General AI category candidates. The top programmes with the highest ranks needed were MSc Tech in Applied Geology,  MSc in Mathematics and Computing, and MSc in Chemistry. IIT Dhanbad cutoff 2024 has been released for BTech, Integrated BTech and BArch courses in the form of opening and closing ranks. In Round 5, the closing ranks varied between 3846 and 16011 wherein B.Tech. in CSE is highly competitive among General category students under the AI Quota.While comparing the IIT Dhanbad CSE cutoff 2024 with the last two years, we can see that B.Tech. in CSE has shown a declining trend in its Round 5 closing ranks.
