At IIIT Dharwad, CGPA is calculated using a credit-based system. For each course, a credit shall be given on the basis of its grade. Grade points from 10 to 0 shall be used for the assessment of student performance. The SGPA is determined by multiplying the grade points per credit and taking an average. CGPA is the average SGPA over a full semester, taken into account partial and repeated courses subject to institute policies.

Yes, IIT Dharwad offers MTech courses, and admission is based on GATE scores. MTech at IIT Dharwad is offered in three specialisations, namely Data Science & AI, Mechanical, Sustainable & Smart Mobility. The total tuition fee for the entire M.Tech course is INR 20,000. The admissions shall be made through the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP). All interested and eligible candidates are required to register on COAP.
