Comparing the colleges, for a B.Tech degree, AIMST University is relatively better. IIT Guwahati is one of India's top engineering institutions; it does well across various national rankings, including the NIRF rankings. Also, its curriculum is relatively strong and provides good faculty and placement opportunities, as average salaries for graduates with B.Tech in IIT Guwahati are approximated to be INR 22.5 LPA. IIT Guwahati offers a full-time MA programme lasting two years. To be eligible for MA admission, candidates must have completed their graduation in any discipline from a recognised university. To be eligible, they must have scored a minimum of 60% aggregate in their graduation. Additionally, they must present the relevant documents to prove their eligibility at the time of admission. In addition to this, 102 students received packages of INR 50 LPA. However, the the highest stipend offered during IIT Guwahati internships 2023 was INR 1.60 LPA. Moreover, the average package offered to MBA students stood at INR 10.08 LPA.

IIT Guwahati BTech admissions dates for the academic year 2025 have not been released yet. However, the BTech admissions for the academic year 2025-26 are expected to begin soon at IIT Guwahati. The process starts with the registrations for the JEE Main entrance exam. This exam is conducted in two phases. The entire examination process for JEE Main Session 1 has been concluded. Additionally, the registrations are ongoing for JEE Main Session 2 exam. After the commencement of JEE Main and the declaration of results, candidates have to register for the JEE Advanced exam, which will begin in the mid-month of April.
