HSEE is a test which is one of its kind, which admits students to a five-year integrated masters programme in humanities and social sciences subjects offered by only IIT, Madras. IIT, Kanpur does not provide this course.

The marks in CS in IIT Kanpur depends on the difficulty of the paper. Rank under 200 for B.Tech CS is considered in top IITs and around 300 marks.

IIT, Kanpur in no way is a better choice than IIT, Kharagpur due to various reasons.
IIT, Kanpur students enjoy lots of freedom and can feel independent as the college administration makes you feel mature enough to take rational judgements whereas norms are strict at IIT, Kharagpur.
IIT, Kanpur has an average placement of 12 LPA and highest reaching up to 23 LPA whereas in IIT, Kharagpur it is 10.5 LPA, highest reaching up to 19 lakh.
Although, the labs and all other equipment related facilities are remarkable in both the institutes but still, Kanpur campus is more vibrant than Kharagpur consisting a pool of talented minds in it.

Electrical engineering is among the best engineering branches in every term of placement, research and further studies.
Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur is among the best engineering Institutes of India. Very much placement ratio is seen here at every year in every branch.
Talking about placements of electrical engineering at IIT-Kanpur, the placement ratio is very good and it is around 80 to 90%. The average package is around 5 to 7 LPA.

IIT Kanpur is a prestigious institute that comes under the top three IITs (as per recent years record). The most preferred branches from IIT Kanpur are CSE, aerospace and chemical. Though, the best college for chemical one may find in IIT Madras, but IIT Kanpur is also no less than that.
The placement data shows an average placement of 13 lakh per annum, whereas the highest being 22 lakhs and the lowest being 7 lakhs.
The most interesting part of the academic curriculum in IIT Kanpur is its academic trips which one MUST be a part of being a part of the institution.

IIT, Kharagpur is better than IIT, Kanpur.

Talking about aerospace engineering in IIT-Kanpur. Everyone knows IIT-Kanpur is one of the best government colleges in India. The core companies that visit the campus prefer the dual degree or M.Tech students. Moreover, B.Tech. But it is not like that B.Tech students do not get placed or have no scope. Big companies like Eaton, GE, Airbus and Honeywell, visit the campus. Apart from these, companies like L&T and ISRO also visit the campus.

The placement trend in B.Tech in materials science and engineering in IIT-Kanpur is clean and amazing. Though, Materials Science and Engineering is not one of the core branches but day by day more companies are opening their gates for the people. They are the industry people anyway.

Established in 2001, the relatively new Department of Biological Sciences and Bioengineering (BSBE) strives to implement a multidisciplinary research and teaching program in modern biology and bioengineering.
