Admissions to IIT Kharagpur depend on your performance in the JEE Advanced exam. IIT Kharagpur releases category wise cutoff ranks after every round of counselling. These ranks generally indicate the last rank that secured admission for a particular category in that specific round. The cutoff ranks for IIT Kharagpur admissions are no longer relevant for 2023 as admissions happen annually.

The first of the 16 institutes created within the IIT system is the Indian Institute of Technology at Kharagpur. One of the best public institutions in Kharagpur, India, is IIT-KGP. According to the QS World University Rankings 2024, it is placed #271. However, the QS WUR Ranking for the subject is #28 and the QS sustainability ranking is #=349. The IIT-KGP stands at number #5 in the Asian University Rankings.
