The IIT Madras MSc cutoff 2024 has been released for Round 1, wherein the M.Sc. in Physics is the most competitive specialisation with a closing rank of 134 for the General AII India category students. The least competitive course is M.Sc. in Mathematics with a cutoff rank of 201. So, candidates seeking admission to any of the MSc courses must secure a rank up to 201 to be eligible for IIT Madras. IIT Madras admission to the MSc course is based on IIT JAM scores, followed by the IIT JAM counselling process. This range is extremely near to the cut off rank of 6169 for the B.Tech. programme in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering in Round 6. This was under the All India Quota for the general category. You cannot afford to receive a lower score than this unless the candidate falls into a different category or is a different resident. There is a chance of being admitted with this rank, but as the cutoffs vary every round, getting in at a higher rank will undoubtedly boost your chances of being admitted to the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.

The trend for the last round closing rank for BTech in CSE at IIT Madras over the past three years (2021-2023) has been fluctuating.The closing rank was 163 for the general category in the last round (Round 6) of JoSAA counselling in 2021. In 2022, it saw an increase, reaching 175 for the general category in the last round. Whereas, in 2023, the closing rank for the general category dipped again to 148 in the last round.This trend indicates that the exact cut-off rank can vary slightly each year.
