IIT Mandi has a beautiful location and is located on mountains and hills. Placements: placement season started in early August 2021. Students are provided with placement training as well. Around 70%-80% of students got placed in 2021.

IIT Mandi has been ranked 31st by NIRF for B.Tech Mechanical engineering amongst the top engineering colleges in the country. While IIT Tirupati and IIT Dharwad were recently established and haven't been ranked yet by NIRF. On the other hand IIT Dhanbad, previously known as ISM is ranked 12th according to NIRF for engineering physics.
