Name change in 12th does not affect JEE IIT college admission, if you carry necessary proof of that name. If Name is not updated in 10th and 12 mark sheets-Legal affidavit for change of name during application & at time of admission. This affidavit, along with a gazette notification (if applicable) or newspaper publication will be an evidence for your name change. After you do this, make sure all your documents right from JEE application have the new name and nothing confuses during verification process.

If you have all your documentation in place, changing the name post-Class 12th will not cause any issues for admissions at JEE-accepting colleges. For applying to JEE after a name change, use your new names as in the affidavit when you fill up the application form for JEE. Upload name change affidavit and gazette notification / newspaper publication (if any) Attach the affidavit during admissions, along with certificates of class 10th and class 12 provided your old name. It is done to maintain the consistency and making this you can avoid any trouble at getting your documents verified.

You are typically not eligible for BTech programs at IITs as a PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) student with 61% in the 12th grade, as these programs demand a solid background in mathematics (PCM). However, some universities may be able to accept you into their BSc biotechnology programs. However, IITs normally demand PCM in addition to JEE Advanced for admission. You might think about other prestigious universities that accept PCB students for biotechnology, such as Delhi University or IISERs.

A strong JEE Advanced score is necessary to be admitted to one of the most demanding programs—the B.Tech in Data Science programme at an IIT. IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, and IIT Madras are some of the older, more prestigious IITs where admission to the Data Science programme is highly competitive. Although the precise rank required varies from year to year and depends on the individual IIT, general trends show that you would typically need to be within the top 1,500 to 2,500 ranks in JEE Advanced.Though the needed rank for more recent IITs may be marginally lower, a great performance is still expected, most likely ranking in the top 3
