Hello Kumar Balen, admissions to IIT's is based on ranking in JEE Advanced. However only those students who can score high enough in JEE Mains can appear for JEE Advanced. Hence preparation for admission in IIT's begins with preparation to appear for JEE Mains. Best wishes to you.

Hello Mohammed Mudassir, admissions in IIT's are based on performance in JEE Advanced. But one can appear for JEE Advanced only if the ranking is good in JEE Mains. Thus we can safely say that for getting admission in IIT, one must score well in JEE Mains as well as JEE Advanced. Best wishes to you.
