Hello Kiran, on the basis of ranking in JEE Mains, a student can seek admission only in NIT. For IIT, ranking in JEE Advanced matters. Hello Madhavi, NIT and IIIT are on the same pedestal. Hence while finalising your choices during counselling, you ought to have given choice for any of the IIIT. If unfortunately itsleft out and you have been allotted NIT Durgapur then you have to accept it. You may appear for JEE Mains again next year and then you can get IIIT. Best wishes to you.

Hello Dilshad, very fact that you have completed Bachelor of engineering from an IIT indicates that you have good academics. Now there are plenty of fields which are open to you. You can go for post graduation in some specialisation from mechanical engineering. This can lead you to go in for Ph.D. and research oriented work there after. Else you can think of doing MBA and join MNC or any good Indian company. There is also the third option that you can choose to start your own business or enterprise and then go on to employ people providing employment. The choice is exclusively yours.
