Both are different. IIM is specialized for MBA and IIT is specialized for engineering, but at present time, lot of IIT and NIT are offering MBA programme. IIM is offering PGP programme in different specialization. All the IITs have very high CAT cut off. IIM SJMSOM IIT B, VGSOM IIT KGP, DMS IIT Delhi are in category with decent placement. All IIM are good except few IIMs, but all IIT has very good infrastructure and job offered.

Hello Pratik,
Oh no. MIT does not accept students in middle of the course. But why leave IIT? It is the best institute for doing engineering, perhaps even better than MIT.

I shall respond to the Second Question First. The Placement Status of IITs is the best in the country. It is not just about the number of people. Places or the total percentage of placed students. It is more about what kind of Jobs are offered and achieved. IITs get good jobs and salaries. Now, The B.Tech and M.Tech aren't placed together. They might sit in the placements but because of the qualification there remains a difference in the realised offers. The students do have the choice of picking a job but the degrees are surely different for the employers.

It entirely depends upon you. Both these colleges have their brand name. You can decide whether to be an IITian or NITian. But if you are concerned with the knowledge then NIT, Trichy cannot be replaced by IIT Dhanbad. Apart from that, NIT has cent percent record in placements.

There is no best coaching, because everybody likes to claim themselves as best. If you really want to prepare, please don't go to these so-called coaching centers. Instead, get in touch with any NID or CEED qualified student and take his or her feedback/guidance. Designers are generally very friendly people, you just need to ask for help. All the best.
