Every year several candidates appears in the JEE Main Exam this year too around 10 Lacs students appeared the last year cutoff for JEE Main was as follows
General- 81 Marks
OBC - 49 Marks
SC- 32 Marks
ST - 27 Marks
Out of 10 Lacs s students only 224000 students gets chance to appear for the JEE Advanced Exam. If you score well in the JEE Main Exam you will get the chance to appear in the JEE Advanced Exam or would get admission in the JEE Main Colleges like NITs and other GFTIs Colleges.

It's upto to you which branch you wanna select, You can go for Civil, Electrical Electronics, Mechanical, CS, IT and many other co- branches.

Yes, you can fill form of JEE Mains. If you qualify in JEE main then you have to take TC from B.Sc. Then only, you can take admission in any of the engineering college. Hope I have solved your query.

JEE Mains is just like a qualifying round. JEE Advanced marks/ranks are independent of boards percentage as well as JEE Mains marks.

Yes, you can appear for other state engineering entrance exams. Based on your IIT-JEE Mains marks you can apply for good engineering Institutes accepting the Mains scores. Other good exams to look for BITSAT VITEEE KIITEE SRMEEE, Manipal University Entrance Exam.

Yes sure, since you have taken a very good branch in IIT, definitely you will have a very good career. The scope of biotechnology engineering is basically in the research area, you can become a professor of biotechnology also, forensics laboratory and many other areas, you have very good chances. This branch is very good and have enough opportunity for you. Just be confident, have command over your field.
