IIT is just a tag. Which is a dream for all. Yes, the packages are high for IIT student since the college is government and the student has also some talent and skill. But I would like to say that your placement does't totally depend upon your college but it is actually depends on you. You talent, knowledge, command over your field etc. Some people arena't of IIT but they do get the high packages and are recruited by Google, Microsoft etc. Just do the hardwork, participate In extra curricular activities, be active and maintain your academics.

Fundamentally, the exam pattern tests the ability of the student to us logical thinking and use of applicability of concepts to solve questions. Hence, learning by heart is simply not the solution but learning and understanding concepts is. But firstly, believe in yourself. Remember "where there is will, there is way"! Start studying immediately with time given to all subjects everyday. Only hard work will help you. If you are a average student and know your capabilities then you have to work hard, study hard, concentrate and be focus on your studies only and not anything else .
Just go with the concepts of subject of 11th and 12th , practice NCERT as much as you can, Try to solve every question of the book. Go for previous year paper if you want to go for coaching then choose good coaching for the preparation but do not totally depend on it. Do more self study.
You will definitely qualify for 1 attempt in JEE Main.Also if you are of general category then actually you have to study hard.

Firstly, understand none of the IIM's awards an MBA degree as far as placements are concerned IIM's would have a slight edge over the IIT's. But, that is because you can't equate 10 engineering branches to 4 MBA specialization. A top CS graduation from IIT has better opportunities than an average IIM guy.
