You must pass the IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.) in order to be admitted to IITs for an M.Sc in Physics. IITs normally require applicants to obtain a Bachelors degree with physics as a major in order to be eligible. Your pursuit of a B.Sc in Physics with Chemistry and Botany at IGNOU qualifies you for general education requirements. Check to see if your IGNOU degree particularly with regard to curricular content, satisfies IIT's particular qualifying standards.Physics, chemistry and mathematics are the disciplines that the IIT JAM exam evaluates, thus you should study for these as well.?

A Scheduled Tribe (ST) student in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) pays no tuition fees, which means they are fully exempt from paying tuition due to government reservation policies. Key Points to Remember:SC and ST students receive a 100% tuition waiver at all IITs. Additional costs may apply: While tuition is waived, students may still be required to pay other costs such as dormitory rates, test fees, and other incidental expenditures. Income requirements are not applied. This fee remission is applicable regardless of the student's household income.

Searched 1 siteFor IITs, there is no home state quota, and admission is solely based on the All India Rank (AIR) in the JEE Advanced exam. You cannot apply for IITs through the Delhi state quota, as they do not have such a category. For NITs, however, the home state quota applies. You must have completed your schooling (typically up to 12th grade) in the same state as the NIT to be eligible. In your case, if you are a Delhi resident and have completed schooling there, you would be considered for the home state quota at NIT Delhi and other NITs in Delhi

Top IITs in India, such as IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, and others, do not offer lateral entry for B.Tech programs. Admissions to these programs are strictly through the JEE Advanced exam, which requires candidates to qualify after clearing JEE Main. However, some institutes in India, including specific IIITs and private universities, might offer lateral entry into B.Tech programs, primarily for Diploma holders or those who meet specific eligibility criteria. For further details on lateral entry opportunities, you might explore private engineering institutions or state universities that provide such pathways.

A GATE score of 14.33 is quite low, and it is unlikely to secure admission to top NITs or IITs for M.Tech in CSE. These institutions typically have higher cutoffs, especially for competitive branches like Computer Science Engineering. For IITs, cutoffs can be well above 600-700 marks, while NITs may also have cutoffs ranging from 300-500, depending on the institute and category.
