There are total 3 attempts for JEE Mains and 2 for JEE Advanced and these are applicable for the consecutive years only.
So, if you would complete your 12th board exam in the year of appearing JEE or have completed in the previous year then you are eligible for JEE.

In the 12th board exams, you need to secure a minimum of 75% (general category), 65% (for SC, ST and PWD candidates) or you need to be in the top 20 percentile (top 20% students from your board) to secure admissions in IITs.
