The minimum eligibility marks to get admission into IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs is 75% for General and 65% for SC, ST and PWD candidates.
So, only if you belong to SC/ST, then you are eligible to get admission into IITs. Or else, you may give the improvement exam and then try to have a good score in board exams.

All IITs are good but for getting the top IITs like Bombay, Madras, Kanpur, Guwahati, etc. Your rank should be below 1000 or 1500 for getting computer science engineering. It is one of the top courses offered and the IIT Bombay is considered to be the best for CSE.

Yes, you can appear for the IIT JEE exams after completing your 12th privately however the board has to be recognized one. To get admission in IIT you must of course clear the JEE Mains and Advanced.
