There are some good coaching institute which offer preparation for GATE such as Made Easy, Career Launcher, ACE Academy. You need to write GATE and score 98 percentile to get a discipline of your interest from a good IIT. You need to keep your basics clear and work out as much problems as possible on those concepts. Do solve previous year question papers.

Yes, you can take admission in IITs after your Diploma through lateral entry program. You have to check the eligibility criteria. For lateral entry, there is an entrance exam required or some IITs have on merit basis also.

Hello,
If you want to clear IIT entrance exams, then you should prepare for IIT JEE or IIT JAM test. These exams are considered as very tough exams in India. You have to work hard to prepare for these exams. You should solve previous year question papers to get a perfect idea about the exam and exam pattern.

Both are national importance engineering institute but they have different entrance exam for admission. Like as in nit, JEE main and in IIT, you need to crack JEE advance.
