In India, ILS Law College in Pune is typically regarded as a Tier 2 legal education institution. It is highly regarded, particularly in Maharashtra, and is well-known for having been around since 1924. Although it has produced eminent graduates and provides high-quality legal education, it is not as highly regarded in the Tier 1 category as the National Law Universities (NLUs). But many aspirant law students still choose ILS Law College because it is well-regarded and offers strong academic and career placement chances.

Direct entry into ILS is not possible in the first year. Admission is by entrance test only. However, you can apply to transfer after the first year.Earlier direct admission was taken based on 12th marks with different cut-offs for science and commerce students With the introduction of the MHCET examination and Common Law Entrance Test (CLAT), the candidates now have to achieve a certain score to qualify for ILS which is the main admission criteria for BA LLB in ILS Law College.
