Yes, when you want to become a marine engineer it is obvious that you will be serving on the ship that could be sailing for many days without any recourse to good medical advice or facility. Hence DG shipping has laid down strict medical guidelines to be followed by all the institutes which are offering this course. It goes without saying that the students will be tested based on these standards before they are admitted for Marine engineering course. Applicants must not be more than 21 years of age, as on September 1, 2017. Female applicants must be 22 years as on September 1, 2017.
The minimum age limit is 17 years.
2. Qualifying Exam & Pass Percentage:
Applicants must have passed 10+2 securing minimum aggregate marks of 60%.
Applicants who have appeared in 10+2 in the year 2017 will be considered eligible to take TMISAT 2017.
3. Subjects to study in qualifying exam:
They need to score the qualifying marks taking Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics together in 10+2.
4. Other Boards:
Candidates who have appeared in International Board need to submit an Equivalence Certificate
