IMU- CET :Indian Maritime University conducts an entrance exam IMUCET for various courses such as B.Sc. Nautical Science, B.Sc. Marine, B.Sc. Marine Catering, etc. You are also required to clear an interview and medical check-up. JEE T. S. Chanakya, Marine Engineering & Research Institute, Kolkata, & National Maritime Academy, Chennai, etc. Accepts JEE score. They are required to fill the forms for IMU as well. Colleges offering B.Sc. IMUCET UG- It's the gateway to The Indian Maritime University (IMU). IMU is the Central University with the motto of Imparting Maritime Education and pre-sea training. It has been long cherished dream of Maritime society of India. IMU Comprises of five campuses-
Directorate of Marine engineering and training- First Maritime college established in entire South asian in the year 1949. Ranks best in entire world in Maritime colleges. Graduate's in Marine Engineering are not necessarily need to join Merchant navy. Many PSU comes for Campus placement, many graduate's prefer higher studies. AIMNET
All India Merchant Navy Entrance Test - They have college somewhere in Agra. Cadets undergo a year pre sea training. And later on They join sea as a deck cadets. This is something like air hostess. They don't have any degree. They are just labour force on ship nothing else. So, I don't know how could you even compare IMU with AIMNET and all. It's something like comparing IIT's with some Bhalu ram Technology colleges and all. I have attached a link please go through it you will have better idea. 1. Age Limit:
Applicants must not be more than 21 years of age, as on September 1, 2017. Female applicants must be 22 years as on September 1, 2017.
The minimum age limit is 17 years.
2. Qualifying Exam & Pass Percentage:
Applicants must have passed 10+2 securing minimum aggregate marks of 60%.
Applicants who have appeared in 10+2 in the year 2017 will be considered eligible to take TMISAT 2017.
3. Subjects to study in qualifying exam:
They need to score the qualifying marks taking Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics together in 10+2.
4. Other Boards:
Candidates who have appeared in International Board need to submit an Equivalence Certificate from Association of Indian University along with relevant documents as mentioned below, while submitting the filled-in application form.
5. Entrance Exam:
All applicants must have appeared and qualified in IMUCET for the year 2017.
6. Medical Fitness.
