To become an Income Tax Officer, one should first of all enter the Income Tax Department as Income Tax Inspector or Tax Assistant. Then they can get promotion to the designation of Income Tax Officer after qualifying the departmental examination. First step required for joining as Income Tax Inspector or Tax Assistant is to qualify Combined Graduate Level examination. After that, personal interview is there for Income Tax Inspector post and Skill test is there for Tax Assistant post. Hi, First of all, let me tell you the eligibility to be an Income Tax Officer:-
1)To be eligible for becoming an Income Tax Officer one should hold a Bachelors degree of any stream.
2)The candidate must have attained the age of 18 years on 1st July of the year of examination and must not attain 27 years of age on that date. The upper age limit will be relaxed by 3 years of OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates. The upper age limit will be relaxed in favour of certain categories of employees working under the government of India and defence services personnel. I think no, because ITO exam require graduation, and till now IPCC is not considered as graduation. Moreover, permission from ICAI should be taken before enrolling for any other course. Thanks.
