Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree with at least 45% aggregate in the respective discipline or equivalent qualification from a recognised university. The maximum age limit to take admission in the course is 30 years on the date of admission. Candidates with a strong hold on English/ Hindi language may be preferred during the time of admission. India Today Media Institute course admission is made through ITMI Admission Test, Group Discussion and Interview followed by a written essay/ letter (may be written in Hindi or English for the Broadcast programme) on a topic which will be given on the spot.

India Today Media Institute has a fee refund policy. The institute will refund INR 5,000 for refundable equipment and library deposit after candidates complete the course. Only those students can claim the amount who have duly adhered to the payment obligations during the course tenure. The students will be required to submit “No Dues” certificates for claiming the refund.A mandatory deposit of INR 40,000 shall not be returned under any circumstances once the payment has been made to book the seat.
