Hi Snehil
No, CAT score doesn't hold any importance in IIFT's admission process. There is a dedicated admission process for IIFT. The entrance test is held in November. Based on which a merit list is released and then GD-PI-WAT(group discussion-personal interview-written ability test) are conducted for the selected students in Feb-March. After which the final results get out.

IIFT is one of the top notch in business education. Minimum eligibility criteria is 50% in graduation and a CAT score. You hv to score above 90 percentile and needs a good performance in gd/wat/pi round. All the best. Thank you.

IIFT achieved 100% placements in record time for its flagship MBA (IB) program and was the first amongst Top 10 B-School across the country to finish its Final Placements. The official placement reports for the last few years are available online. You can refer to them for more details.

Yes, they do. The companies go through your entire profile which includes your academic performance in X, XII, graduation as well as your CGPA in IIFT. So, marks do matter, infact they might sometimes be one of the criteria for shortlisting too. Post that, it's all up to your performance in the process.

If you are talking about 47 percentile in CAT(general), then I'm afraid it might be difficult for you to get into any top-notch recognized B-school. However, you may try for some other MBA entrance exams and fare well in them.
And if you are concerned about your X/XII th percentage, you might face some issues in getting shortlisted for GD-PI for colleges which consider these percentages. Else, it's upto you how well you are able to justify your low percentage in the interviews.

For the batch of 2017-19, notification will be out by July. The entrance test will be held in November while results for the same will be declared by December-Jan. This will be followed by interviews.
