Moreover, IIITDM Kurnool is recognised as an Institution of National Importance by the Parliament ACT. It was established in 2015 and is spread over an area of 150 acres. The institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes under 4 departments.

Indian Institute of Information Technology Design & Manufacturing provides modern amenities with state-of-the-art infrastructure to its students. The facilities of the institute include a library, auditorium, dinning & shopping, medical aid centre, ATM, etc. Moreover, IIITDM Kancheepuram also has hostel facility both for boys and girls. The hostel room is equipped with a reading table, a chair and a cot.

Candidates who want to apply for IIITDM Kancheepuram admissions must appear in the national-level entrance exam conducted every year. In B.Tech, candidates are admitted based on their performance in JEE Main and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). M.Tech aspirants will get admission through Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). After that, they have to appear in Centralized Counseling for M.Tech/ MArch/ Plan/ MDes (CCMT).

Quality of any institute depends on the students be it IIT, IIIT, NIT etc. The Brand value they create depends upon factors like top class faculty members present, funds received from government etc. However such factors just ACT as catalyst initially, while the long term success depends only on the students.
