The modes of Indian Institute of Information Technology Ranchi admission are offline and online. Admission to various postgraduate and undergraduate courses is based on entrance tests and merit. At the undergraduate level, the college offers BTech programmes to students. According to the 2023 placement data available on the official website, out of 92 eligible undergraduate and postgraduate students, 78 were placed during the 2022 placements drive. The IIIT Ranchi the highest package offered to students in 2022 was INR 46 LPA and the average package stood at INR 12 LPA. The highest package offered to students in 2023 was INR 83.38 LPA. The top companies taking part in the placement drive at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Ranchi in 2023 were Deloitte, Ola, Goldman Sachs, American Express, and others.

The average package offered to students in 2023 was INR 16.7 LPA whereas the highest package offered in 2023 was INR 83.38 LPA. The last year 2022 cutoff ranks for B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering at IIIT Ranchi - Indian Institute of Information Technology other than General category are - 61353 for OBC, 171300 for SC, 294764 for ST, 57212 for EWS, 2264 for PWD. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE exam, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.

IIIT Ranchi and IIIT Una are one of the best IIITs present in India for B.Tech and M.Tech courses. The placements offered to both the IIIT students are good and both the IIITs offer scholarships to eligible students. The faculty is quite good at IIIT Ranchi and IIIT Una and the facilities offered by IIIT Una and IIIT Ranchi are splendid. So which is the best IIIT college depends on what the B.Tech or M.Tech course aspirant is looking for in a particular college, organisation, or institute. As both IIITs are at par with each other.
