The average salary package is generally between INR 3 to 4 LPA. Students who aspire to become part of the media and communication industry have relatively good prospects, as there is a good placement cell, and many companies partake in recruitment drives to hire graduates.

The PG Diploma at IIMC, Kottayam is relatively affordable. A. Journalism (English or Hindi): Approximately INR 95,500 B. The rest of the courses: INR 2,08,500. This makes it a relatively good option compared to most other schools. The overall expense is very affordable for students wishing to pursue their careers in mass communication, despite perhaps facing some other material fees, etc.

The previous years' cutoff marks to attain admission to PG Diploma in IIMC, Kottayam is generally in the range of 297-663 for the General category only. It should be noted that the above cutoff ranks may change with the programme of study and category. For example, the passing marks in terms of cutoff rank for admission to PG Diploma in Journalism was 566-651. The cutoff ranks by no means are fixed for each passing year, still the admission is systematic and also the other components including Counseling and Seat Allotment. The placement ratio of IIMC PG Diploma is quite appreciable which ranges from 70-80 percent. As mentioned above the median salary package goes up to INR 4-6 Lacs per annum respectively. The major recruiting organizations are the media houses, public relation agencies, and business companies. Most of the recruits are hired by Malayala Manorama Company, Mathrubhumi and Asianet Companies. Yes, the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Kottayam branch is a good institution for students who wish to pursue a Post Graduate Diploma. This institute offers two PG Diploma courses which are as follows:Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism (English)Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism (Malayalam)These courses are practical and output-oriented. But since I earlier said that if you can manage to get the Delhi one then all the other IIMCs are pale as compared to that one. So, if you'll ask me i'll once again recommend you to the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Delhi.
