No, MSc admission to IIT Delhi is determined through entrance. Candidates must apply and show up for the Joint Admission Test (IIT JAM). This entrance exam is administered to applicants for admission to MSc programmes and other postgraduate courses provided by IITs. Following the completion of all procedures, the institute makes its merit list public. Interested candidates can apply for JAM 2025 using the JAM Online Application Processing System. Moreover, candidates must pay the entrance fee to secure their final seats if they are selected for further consideration.

IIT Delhi M.Tech admission is completely entrance-based. Candidates seeking admission to the IIT Delhi M.Tech course must appear for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). However, BTech graduates from IITs with an overall CGPA of 8.00 out of 10 are exempted from GATE and are eligible for direct admissions.
