SJMSOM, IIT Bombay shortlists candidates for MBA programme based on CAT score followed by a personal interview round. However, there are other parameters also considered by the institute while providing final admission. For 2022, cut off was 1406 for General category candidates in All India quota for B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering in IIT Bombay - Indian Institute of Technology. For female candidates in general category under All India quota, 3036 was the closing rank. B.Tech cut off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant.

Candidates wishing to seek admission to B.Tech Aerospace Engineering need to match undermentioned eligibility criteria:
Candidates belonging to the General category with 60% marks and SC/ST category with 55% marks in 10+2 with Science stream are eligible to pursue B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering. As per the eligibility criteria of IIT Bombay for M.Des. in Industrial Design, a candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Architecture / Design/ Interior Design, or equivalent OR a Professional Diploma in Design (NID/CEPT, or equivalent) OR a B.F.A. (4 year professional program, after 10+2). There is no specific mention of a maximum gap year between 12th and the Bachelor's degree or diploma.
