Average package:- 12.5 lakhs (aggregate of all branches)
Highest package:- 1.3 crores (aggregate of all branches)
Percentage placed:- 79.8%
No of offers made (2016) :- 1143

Hello Ranbir,
You cannot study free of cost at IITs even if you secure an all India rank of 10 or so.
You can get some fee concessions, tuition fee waivers, mess fee waivers, etc.

In Mumbai, all colleges are affiliated to Mumbai University (MU) except ICT. VJTI, SPIT-SPCE and KJ Somaiya Vidyavihar are the only autonomous institutes under MU which are best in Mumbai.

Aeronautical engineering is a niche branch of engineering with limited job and career growth opportunities. Most the jobs are in Government or Public Sector Units. CSE graduate from IITs have maximum demand in markets. If you have similar interests in CSE and Aeronautical Engineering, then it is recommended that you may prefer CSE from IIT Bombay over Aeronautical Engineering from IIT Chennai.

No, this year IIT declared that no marks of class 12th should be taken into consideration while deciding JEE Mains and Advanced merit, but 75% in class 12th is compulsory for filling JEE Mains form. Below that you are not able to apply for JEE Mains.
