Yes, IIT Bombay conducts Common Entrance Exam for Design or CEED for admission to MDes programme. It is a national-level entrance exam conducted in online mode. It is a three-hour exam conducted once in a year. Candidates shortlisted based on CEED rank have to also appear for IDC written test conducted by the institute. The shortlisted aspirants are further require to come for an interview round for final selection.

The total tuition fee for IIT Bombay MDes is INR 1 Lacs as per an unofficial source. Students belonging to SC/ ST/ PwD category or a child of institution staff are exempted from paying the tuition fee. There is a concessional and a non-concessional fee for candidates belonging to General/ EWS/ OBC-NCL category. The concessional is offered on tuition fee. IIT Bombay offers BDes through IDC School of Design at the UG level. It is a four-year course divided into eight semesters. It also offers five-year integrated BDes + MDes programme spread across 10 semesters. The option of doing a dual degree, will be available at the end of third year. Aspirants who have completed Class 12 or equivalent can apply for BDes course. Those who have appeared for the first time in the qualifying exam in 2022 or earlier are not eligible.

The total tuition fee for IIT Bombay BDes courses ranges from INR 8 Lacs to INR 11.6 lakh. This range includes fees for the integrated course as well. Moreover, the given fee is calculated as per the data collected from unofficial sources and hence is subject to changes. Apart from the programme fee, aspirants need to pay a counselling registration fee of INR 4,000. An application fee is also paid in the start. IIT Bombay BDes is a four-year course spread across eight semesters. It also offers a five-year integrated BDes + MDes programme. Candidates have an option of doing dual degree at the end of the third year. Both these courses are credit-based. Each specialisation has slightly separate curriculum.
