Hi,
The placements of CS IT, and safety are good. Almost all of the students, who don't have backlogs placed. Many companies of CS IT, and safety visit the campus. The placement of EC branch is average because fewer core companies visit here. But, many of them got placed in the IT companies. The placement of civil and mechanical is not good. Less number of core companies of the mechanical and civil visit the campus. Thank you.

Hi,It totally depends on your interest that in which college you are more comfortable and interested. Both the colleges are good, still you can prefer CUSAT due to more opportunities at the time of placement. Only low paying IT companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys visit IEM Kolkata, while you might get more opportunities at CUSAT. Best of luck.

Electrical and Electronics mainly deals with electrical and power systems. It also covers some basics of electronics. As an example: - the big power distribution systems with transformers all comes under Electrical Engineering. Electronics and Communication Engineering covers more of semi-conductors, diodes, transistors, robotics, and RF systems. Small circuit boards which are the heart and soul of smartphones/ computers are all part of ECE subjects. You can also take a look at below link -
