No, you can take up BBA in IEM after completing your 12th if you had taken commerce stream in 12th and an aggregate of 55% and above.
Admission is through entrance test conducted by the university. If you want any further details about the universities let me know about your locality so that I can suggest a few good universities in your locality.

It has excellent placements for deserving students. In fact, ECE branch is indeed one of the best streams in IEM and the placement records include jobs from core companies as well as well reputed IT companies. You can always pursue a higher degree in ECE which would be much useful in the future.

BBA from IEM is much better. Being a student of the college, I must say the faculty is much nice. Regarding placements, it holds a good record. You might pursue an MBA from IEM too.

When you come to comparison, in iem there are few orthodox thing which you will not like at all, here you will not be able to enjoy campus fun and college life at all, you have to be in very discipline manner daily come to college at 9:00 with proper uniform,80% attendance. The level of study I think is same at both the respective places. The only thing that make amity a little bit less preferable is their fee structure because Amity is costlier than iem. One more thing from now 2017 batches I heard that iem is going to be autonomous so this is also a point of consideration. If you don't have any issue with that discipline thing of iem

Yes, you can pursue, but not via distance mode. You have to do it in a regular mode because as per government rules, any pro course is not a subject of distance education.
