Diploma in Tourism & Travel Management is an entry-level certification course in the domain of management with a focus on the decimation of skills and knowledge in regards to application of management related techniques and principles in tourism and travel industry. The course is offered to students who have passed their 10+2 or equivalent level education from a recognized board/institute. Those who have done a Diploma after class 10th as a part of 10 +3 pattern of education can also apply for admission to the course. The fee for the course varies from INR 15,000 to 2, 70,000 across various colleges and universities across the country. The variation in the fee is based on the location and type of university that is private/deemed or government. Admissions to the course are mainly done on merit basis that is the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in class 12th or equivalent level examinations. Few institute goes for a qualifying entrance exam conduct for grant of admission. Colleges/Institutes offering the course demand a minimum of 50% marks (Relaxation for reserved category candidates) at 10+2 or equivalent level in order to accord admissions in the course.

The usual candidate profile for freshers is as mentioned below.
Age: Between 18 and 27 years
Minimum Height: Men - 170 cms and Women - 157 cms
Weight: In proportion to height
Educational Qualification: HSC (10 + 2). Candidates who are appearing for their HSC examinations can also apply
Physical features: Pleasing personality, clear complexion (scars, pimples and blemishes not acceptable) and good eyesight
Marital Status: Unmarried
Language skills:Fluency in English and Hindi. Proficiency in a foreign language will be an added advantage.
Interactive skills: Excellent communication and good interpersonal skills
Nationality: Indian citizens only
Passport: Must possess a valid Indian passport or should have applied for a passport
Mandatory Documentation : Must possess a Pan Card and Aadhaar Card
You may opt to join training institutes if you feel so but in my opinion, you do not require any training to get hired as a cabin crew, all your training is conducted by the airline itself. Each airline has its own SOP (Standard Operating Procedures), wherein certain compulsory procedures are same in all the airlines whereas the supplementary procedures vary drastically. Most of the Institutes which provide training for cabin crew do not have enough infrastructure to conduct the training in a realistic environment. DGR (Dangerous Goods), AVSEC (Aviation Security), Evacuation, etc., are some of the basic and most important training, which only an airline can conduct in a realistic manner. As it requires proper approval from the designated authority and real-time infrastructure which only airlines can afford. So, you should basically work on your looks, language, communication skills and preventability, to walk-in for any cabin crew interview.
