Instrumentation and Control engineers have good scope of job opportunities in manufacturing plants which use process Technology such as Chemical, Petrochemical, Gas etc companies. As it's a niche skill, growth opportunities are limited.

The scope is very good.
Being an Instrumentation Engineer myself, I can say that without a doubt.
I hope you might be aware about Instrumentation and control Engineering and its Applications. If not, Please read the other answers in which people have clearly mentioned about Instrumentation Engineering and the Industries where it is extensively dealt with.
Coming back to your question, There is abundance of Scope in the Middle East and other Oil rich states. There are many Oil & gas, Chemical and petrochemical companies who hire Instrumentation Engineers and once you gain sufficient experience(5+ Years) you get paid also very well.

In short, huge. Robotics is becoming a worldwide phenomenon and India is slowly catching up to it. Robotics involves mainly 34 thing -Instru and control, AI, Embedded Systems, Coding.
As the future of robotics is huge Instru and control will also rise. There is anyway a shortage right now of good Instrumentation engineers.
Furthermore with IT companies removing people for automation, instrumentation and control assumes greater importance. Automation of human jobs requires control theory basically along with AI. So I'm sure along with AI, Instrumentation and Control will be the next boom, not just in India but across the world.
