Yes, there is no compulsion to take any subjects if you want to pursue interior designing programme. You can enter into this field with any of the stream like arts, commerce or science.
That's a creative field and for the further growth person should have creative skills and interest in decoration.

I feel sorry to tell you that NIFT does not provide any course or training programme related to Interior Designing. But, having said that, there are other exams that you can prepare for to pursue Interior Designing course. Courses and Entrance Exams.
