Interior Designing, as a profession, is gaining huge popularity in India. It is a profession that lets one express his/her creativity through work. Diverse job opportunities exist in front of interior design professionals. They may either choose to work under supervised setup (Design studios and Interior design firms) or work independently. When it comes to Government sector jobs, PWDs, Municipal Corporations and Town Planning Departments are known to hire interior design professionals. They may also become part of Government schemes related to housing and relocation of people.

Hi Yaowei Lam, Yes, there are Diploma courses for interior designing in Mumbai at the advanced level. I shall share names of few colleges/institutes with you for your reference. Kindly consider the other options where you can take up 3 years UG courses for interior designing. 1. International School of Design, Kandivali 2. Hue N Rig Institute of Art and Design 3. JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Vile Parle West 4. Inter National Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD Borivali) 5. Pannache International School of Design 6. Hi Sonal,
Undoubtedly, Vogue Institute is a better choice as it is one of the top colleges in India for design courses. The placements are also great. You must check their website for placements. The institute holds a good record of students being placed with some of the highly reputed organisations.

Hi Pulkit,
Out of these three colleges, IIFT is the best option to pursue UG in interior designing. You can also go for IILM School of Design (Gurgaon) if you are looking for a good college in Delhi/NCR as this is also one of the top colleges in India for interior design.

Eligibility Candidates applying for this course are required to have acquired 10+2/equivalent qualification with a minimum aggregate score of 45%. Candidates who have completed a Diploma in civil engineering are also eligible to apply for this course through lateral entry. Along with these requirements, candidates are also needed to appear for entrance examinations to get admitted into this course. These examinations are generally conducted at the level of the institute.

Interior Design when pursued with 3 years that is graduation adds more credibility to your profile, 2 years course or rather called Diploma courses also offer good exposure to the subject.
