The institute is known to record 100% placement rate for its BTech batch. The engine cadets undergoing the BTech ME and GME caders participate in the campus placements in their 7th semester and 2nd semester, respectively. IMI Noida conducts comprehensive Personality Development classes and each candidate has to appear for a General Aptitude and Reasoning Ability Test. A round of internal assessment and a mock interview is also conducted by a Chief Engineer.

The cutoff for admission to Diploma in Nautical Science at IMI Noida varies from year to year and depends on factors such as the number of applicants, the difficulty level of the exam, and the number of seats available. The cutoff for the academic year 2023-24 is not yet available.
