No, though this college has a legacy of more than 75 years, today it's not the best engineering college in Jabalpur. Once the pride of place in Jabalpur, the quick footedness of private institutions have left it behind. It still is ranked third best in Jabalpur. It's teachers are renowned for their competency and it's improving it's placement record.

Hello, it has been observed that Govt colleges are laggards when it comes to seeking NIRF ranking. This is perhaps so since the framework demands too much information on varied aspects of the functioning of the institute. It seems that Jabalpur College of Engineering too falls in this category. However, to be fair, the college has now submitted the required documents and one can expect some ranking by NIRF. Be that as it may, the college has quite a good reputation for academics and placements and is considered the 3rd best college among all engineering colleges in Jabalpur.

Jabalpur College of Engineering is an engineering college in the state of Madhya Pradesh. As per the policy of the Govt, admissions to all engineering colleges in the state are based on the ranking obtained by the students in the JEE Mains examination. Same in case of the Jabalpur Engineering College. There is no other exam whose scores are accepted by this college. However, one information suggests that after the completion of the normal process of admission, if some seats are still vacant then the college can fill these based on the score of the 12th examination.

Jabalpur Engineering College has a very vibrant placements cell. This enables students to get prepared to face the recruiters. Colleges conduct mock drills to help students refine their skills of getting interviewed. This is the oldest college in Madhya Pradesh and is well known for its academics also and as a result, lots of recruiters from prominent companies will come during the placement season. As a result of all of this, almost 90% of students get placed. The max CTC of around INR 8 L and the lowest at INR 3 Lacs have been obtained by the students of the college. At Jabalpur Engineering College, Computer Science engineering (CSE) is usually the branch with the best placement record. Every year, top recruiters, such as TCS, Infosys, and Wipro, visit the campus and take many students. This branch sets an average package for CSE graduates up to INR 8 LPA while the overall placement percentage for the same branch is usually higher than others like Mechanical or Civil Engineering. Good placements are also reported in other branches like Electronics and Communication Engineering, but CSE remains the most sought-after one.
