Hello Pankaj, IT would be a better choice as compared with electronics and telecommunication. However both these branches have good prospects for job when you pass out. In addition jadavpur university has a good name academically, hence many recruiters come here for placements. As far as the mop up round is concerned, it's like a lottery ticket!
