It is not bad as you think and at the same time not in Ivy League. Work hard on your communication strategies. Gather management skills and start networking with people. Explore options for networking by attending management sessions outside your college. Appear for the interview, even if you're not qualified to get a glimpse on market demands and expectations.
At the end of the day it is upto an individual to secure a job, course and college are just the mediums. Placements do help a lot with the reputation adding sugar to sweetness.

IFIM, Bangalore is one step ahead of SDMIMD Mysore in terms of placement, faculty, location and others.
IFIM has locational advantages in compare to SDMIMD. From the past few years, IFIM is doing better.
