It is simply studying your course and preparing for entrance in nutshell. So, what you need to do is an honest and dedicated hard work in smartly planned and organised manner. Solving last 10 years question papers never go waste though questions don't repeat. Thing is efficiency in applying knowledge is important which can be achieved by regular revisions.

First of all, you must check the complete IIT JAM Syllabus. All you need for preparation for the IIT JAM is to pick good study material. Prefer good reference books which contains previous years question papers and sample papers also. Practice mock tests through this you will know about your weak points and then work on that. You can take help from YouTube videos on IIT JAM Topics. Make short memory cards to help in last minute revision.

IIT JAM is an exam for B.Sc student mostly, but there are a few engineering students every year who take a turn and move in this direction. Now, benefits of IIT JAM are:
IIT
Mathematics (as you can't get Physics and Chemistry being an engineering Graduate). Lower competition than GATE, but again it's a new arena for an engineering student for odds aren't the real problem, and the most important, even if it's tough, a Bachelors in Engineering especially non-core like ECE/CSE with Masters in Mathematics is a rare and deadly combination for academic and industrial requirements. Here are some tips to crack IIT-Jam:
1. Begin Well with knowing the IIT JAM Syllabus & Paper Pattern. First of all, you need to know the IIT JAM Syllabus& Pattern. As you all know that the syllabus is huge, so start preparing few months before the exam. Don't get messed up with the topics out of syllabus. Stick strictly to your subjects syllabus.
2. Exam Pattern & Duration:
For all the test papers, the duration of the examination will be 3 hours. The medium for all the test papers will be English only.
