The minimum requirement to appear in IIT JAM Exam is a Bachelor's degree with minimum 55% marks for General & OBC and 50% marks for SC, ST categories. It is your performance in JAM ( your marks and rank) that determines your selection in any IIT. 12th marks play no role here.

Indian national as well as foreign national are eligible for JAM. Candidates applying for JAM should have Bachelor's degree, as a qualifying examination degree. The qualifying examination must be passed with minimum 55% aggregate marks (in all subjects including Languages and Subsidiaries, all years combined) without rounding off. Candidates belonging to SC/ST category are required to obtain at least 50% aggregate marks, without rounding off.
