Solving these question papers is the best way to prepare for the exam. This will give you an idea about the pattern and difficulty level of the questions. You should also take online mock tests. This will help you analyze your level of preparation and also increase your speed and accuracy. IIT JAM 2019 exam will be in the month of February 2019. So, prepare yourself well for the exam.

Dear Prachi,
Dropping a year is only meaningful if you are confident enough to get the despaired result. Firstly, just go through IIT JAM. If you think that one year preparation is sufficient for you to get the desired branch and stream, you can drop otherwise you may look for any other college.

There are separate books available for different topics in IIT JAM Exam. So, buying these books separately for each topic is not a good idea. I would suggest you to take help from study materials which covers the syllabus for all the topics in a single book. So, you don't have to carry 1015 books with you. Candidate must have Bachelors degree (Geology) and any two subjects among Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biological Science Physics. Hi AJ,
If you are interested in Computer Science the best thing you can do is take admission in one of the top IITs and IISc and they will take it from there. The courses you do other than Compulsory courses of the degree are very flexible in IITs and you can opt for the Computer Science subject, all of them anyway teaches Data Structure and Algorithmic Design with A language or two in course, you just have to pick the proper elective. Other than that, Mathematics and Computing (it's not a proper Computer Science course) offer a little extra that regular applied Mathematics courses. There is a lot of scope for changes and improvements
