The total tuition fee for IIT Jammu is INR 8 lakh. Other than the tuition fee, students have to pay other one-time charges and those who opt for hostel facilities are required to pay an extra amount for it. The total seats available for all BTech branches combined are 280 seats. This intake is incluseive of the Gender Neutral and Female-only (including Supernumerary) pools and is inclusive of all student categories, such as Open, Open-PwD, GEN-EWS, GEN-EWS-PwD, SC, SC-PWD, ST and ST-PWD, among others. Candidates are offered seat in IIT Jammu BTech course based on JEE Advanced score.

Seat Reservations at Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Jammu:
1- 15 percent of the seats are SC students.
2- 7.5 percent seats for ST students.
3- 27 percent seats for OBC Non-Creamy Layer students as per the Central List.
4- 10 percent of the seats for General-EWS students.
5- Reservation for Kashmir Migrant.
6- There are 5 NRI seats also available for each course in every Indian Institute of Mass Communication.
