Both are good, but if you are thinking of only jobs, CCNA certified people are given preference.
In java, you have to think of algorithms and syntax to apply the logic, you don't have to understand much but you have to think much. As for the CCNA-CCNP, its purely networking. It have less syntax but more thinking and understanding. It consists of network designing. You have to design networks between devices and make them communicate each other. The more you can imagine, the more you will learn.
