Operating out of JNU, the School of Language, Literature, and Culture Studies provides a three-year full-time BA (Hons) curriculum. Applicants are chosen into JNU BA (Hons) programs according to their performance in the NTA-conducted CUET. In addition, lateral entry admission to the second year of the BA (Hons) programme is provided by the university. In addition to having a valid CUET score, candidates who are ready to apply must have completed the first year of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or university with a minimum of 45% aggregate (50% in the case of a BA Hons in German). The qualifying requirement is passing Class 12 or an equivalent exam from an accredited board with at least 45% overall.

Admission to JNU BA Hons courses is based on merit in CUET-UG, conducted by NTA. Selected candidates also have to participate in the counselling for seat allotment.Candidates seeking admission to B.A. (Hons.) in JNU have to appear for CUET (UG). They are required to opt for Section IA – English Test and Section III – General Test for admission in JNU.The counselling procedure is carried out by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSAA) and Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) (later stages).
