Preparatory ranks means that the vacant seats reserved for SC, ST, and PwD candidates, which don't get filled in the counseling, will be allotted to the respective candidate's categories for admission to a preparatory course. Preparatory courses mean that for one year, you will be prepared and trained in IIT. So after successful completion of one year training in IIT you will get admission in next year according the performance in preparatory course.

JoSAA 2022 choice filling has been locked so it won't be making any sense to discuss about admission in IITs now in 2022. But If you want you can go for CSAB for admission in NITs, IIITs and other GFTIs. Hope it helps.

You can get civil in IITBHU and upto Electrical Branch in new 2nd Generation IITs like IITBhillai. If you have interest in coding then go for college as they will have awesome coding culture but only drawback is that you have to study some other core branch subject. Hope it helps.

One of my female students last year got 7000 rank in JEE Advanced and got into IIT bombay metallurgical engineering, one other female student got 10000 rank and got into IIT Delhi, don't remember the branch though, so yes, with a rank under 500 and being a girl student I guess you could get CSE in any of the top 3 IITs but I would suggest consider all top iits, Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, madras, Roorkee etc. As they are all really good for CSE.

Well, from the information provided by you I am afraid that you might not get an IIT, since you need at least 60% marks in JEE Advanced to get into IIT 's for reserved category. You might succeed next year. Best of luck for next year.

They are completely different. With general ST rank list students get admission to regular courses at IITS but with ST-P list you will be enrolled for preparatory courses in IITS and admission to regular course will be given after successful completion of these course. Around 185 preparatory courses are there in IITs. Hope it helps if then please upvote or like it.
