With the release of the JEE Advanced 2025 results, qualified candidates can participate in JoSAA counselling for IIT admissions. For those who didn't qualify in the advanced exam, there's still an opportunity to register for JoSAA using their JEE Main 2025 scores, paving the way for admissions into NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs.

In JEE Advanced 2024, 186,584 candidates registered, 180200 appeared and 48,248 qualified. There has been an increase of 4479 candidates qualifying for the exam compared to last year. However, there were 2903 fewer registrations received this year than the previous year. Additionally, 172 fewer candidates attempted the paper this year compared to last year.

The definition of a good IIT can be subjective. The candidates who wish to get admisison to the first generation of the IITs like IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, and IIT Roorkee must have a high score of 250+ marks out of 360 marks. However, this is not applicable for all courses offered by these IITs. Every course and IIT has different demand and seat ratio which effects the admission of the candidates.
