Devoting one full year for JEE Mains exam preparation has its own merits and demerits. Dropping a year means that you will get sufficient amount of time to prepare for JEE Mains. It will allow you take mock-up test and help to score good ranking in JEE Mains and other competitive exams. 7 months is more than enough to crack JEE Advance if you follow the right schedule and and practice well. From next year the minimum percentage required for JEE in 12th is 75%, you need to balance that as well.

You should need to work hard.
You should try to solve number of papers of JEE advance.
